Frequently asked questions about watchlists

What is a shared watchlist?+

A list of movies & series you want to watch together. Collect suggestions, prioritize with emojis, and work through the list in order.

Do I need an account for the watchlist?+

No. soonish works without registration. Create list, share link, done.

Can we note streaming platforms (Netflix, Disney+, etc.)?+

Yes. Use the description or tags to note: "Netflix", "Disney+", "Amazon Prime" – so you can see immediately where it's available.

Does it work for series with episode tracking?+

The list is flexible: Create a series as one entry or track individual seasons. For detailed episode tracking, use separate entries per season.

How do we prevent spoilers in comments?+

Make spoiler rules a group agreement: Only vague ratings until everyone has watched. Or: Separate list for "Watched & Discuss".

Can we add genres or tags?+

Yes. Use the description for tags like "Comedy", "Crime", "Family Movie", "under 90 min" – then you can filter the list.

What happens in case of a tie after voting?+

Ties are displayed – then you decide spontaneously. Or someone adds another emoji to break the tie.

Can we create multiple watchlists (e.g., Action, Drama)?+

Yes. Create as many lists as you want – e.g., "Action", "Family Night", "Documentaries", "Watchlist 2025". Everything stays organized.

How does checking off work after watching?+

After the movie, check it off, rate briefly with emoji (πŸ˜πŸ˜ŠπŸ€©πŸ˜•) and optionally add a comment – this creates your movie archive.

Is the order binding or can we decide spontaneously?+

The ranking is a recommendation. You can always choose spontaneously – soonish stays flexible.

Can outsiders see our watchlist?+

Lists are only accessible via your shared link. Only share the link with people you want to invite.

What's better for series – emoji or priority mode?+

Emoji voting for variety (many options, everyone votes playfully). Priority ranking for clear queue (Top 5, watched in sequence). Both work – you decide per list!
